4k Xbox is basically Microsofts way of saying "we can do 1080p on high settings and experimenting with 4k on low-medium settings!"

But really, nothing wrong with consoles. They serve their purpose, plug and play, sit on the couch, no compatibly issues. Games are optimized for them rather than hardware being optimized for the games. It's also easier to have friends over to play games with consoles.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PC and PC gaming. Give credit where credit is due.

There's no such thing as a 1080p PC. No matter what the PC is, it can support a multitude of resolutions. But if you mean a PC running at 1080p then I would say, I would still rather 1080p at 60fps then 4k at 20 to 30 fps on a console.
