So I have a predicament. I finished 3200 last season. Went into placements and went 4-6. I played better than i did last season. Then the game places me in plat at 2900. Any reason why? I was playing with masters and diamonds in placements

For some reason a lot of people are being placed a lot lower than usual this season after their placement matches and people aren't sure why I've got a feeling maybe blizzard have adjusted things without announcing it

I wouldn't take it personally because I went 8 wins to 2 loses on my second account, played really well and got placed 2505 while my first account I played worse, went 6 wins to 4 loses and got placed 2949. Both accounts were stuck in 2800s last season

I only played Moira and Mercy too so wasn't like I went different characters.

Pretty sure they base placements off of performance. Not just wins and losses. So probably you had some matches where you underperformed
