Without being stuck in the comments of some guy who thinks gaming at 8k on a 1060 is a viable option: I've got an Acer Predator X34 which is 3440 x 1440 and at the moment it's hooked up to a PC with a small form factor 1070 in it and it'll run AAA games at 50-75fps or so with quality cranked up (or down in the case of PUBG). That's the absolute minimum I'd put a screen with that resolution, in comparison my Razer Blade with a 1060 in it has a 4k panel and it'll struggle to push 25-30fps on medium-ish settings. I'd be going a 144hz 1080p display with 1060 or lower and 1440p display 1070 or higher.
