I bought a $1,400 Qosmio in 2006, it is now the equivalent of a $400 crap laptop, i still use it daily for youtube and netflix, last game played on it was Diablo 3... good long term investment, 3 batteries, a memory and sdd upgrade 11yrs strong. That said you could probably find a better deal.

Get an Alienware, people say they too expensive and you pay for the brand, but 99% of them people have never used one before.. ive had the same one for 5 years now... and it plays @ 95FPS you also get a 3 year warranty

This is what I use, but if you want to spend $2k that's on you. Refurb computers aren't all that bad. Either it was a hardware issue that wa fixed, or an end user issue that can never be fixed.

Try to get one w/ an SSD but in terms of graphical fidelity you'll be totally fine as long as you play 1080p and not 4k
