Need some suggestions/feedback

My brother wants to upgrade his pc (not graphics though, that’s fine) and has a $1k budget

I recommended he starts with a new mobo cpu ram combo considering he’s currently running an fx 9590 (much tdp)

I suggested a Ryzen 5 1600x with 16gb of ddr4, 360mm aio and an x370 board but what would you suggest?

What GPU does he already have? Does the $1k include any extras like Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, Headset, etc..? I'll throw together a mean ass rig for that budget if you answer those questions for me.

If you're going to get a new MOBO and CPU, I don't see a reason not to go with coffee lake. The $1k budget makes it easy to maximize performance and get a badass cooler with it as well. Go hard or go home, this is a badass combo and over $100 left over on his budget when it's all said and done.
