Uh, forgot to put in the details. So this seems to happen after Windows 10 Fall Creators update. It randomly happens while gaming-- Around 1 hour mark, and then freeze. Nothing I can do except a force shutdown.
My PC specs:
AMD FX 8370 @4.3 GHz
GTX 970 G1 Gaming
16 GB RAM
1080P monitor
750W Corsair PSU

Nope. That's pretty much the definition of a faulty system.

More than likely an issue with that FX8350. They have poor IPC and single core performance, which can manifest as microstuttering.

I suggest uninstalling the fall creators update or make sure that it installed correctly

That update killed my pc. Could not restore. Ended up buying new ssd so I could recover my files.

happens to me to...when I tried to exit Far Cry 4 today...my pc just froze...waited for so long and ended up force shutdown
