Honestly I say just buy a new one, you can get a decent one like the Corsair harpoon, or Logitech g203 for about 30 bucks US but I’d recommend Corsair m65 pro they are super durable

Cheap mouse wheel encoder. With some soldering, you can replace it for about 50 cents.

You realise some of them have a extra button to push to lock or free spin the mouse wheel? sometimes clicking the wheel sideways enables/disables it? just a thought, i assume you woulda messed with that before pulling it apart?
