When I had a Nintendo Wii, I was able to buy the classic Nintendo games on the Eshop. I skipped on the Wii-U so I don't know if that console had it but can we expect to be able to buy them again anytime soon on the Switch?

The wii u had a shop but the selection for classic games wasn’t as good. The switch is going to have classic games at some point.

Some time in the future (fingers crossed). It surely can't be that difficult, the NES/snes classics use the same ARM architecture as the switch after all.

Year later and no classic games. Can't even move my games from the Wii U to the switch. They have 500 games on the store and I don't know 90 percent of them
