Mario Rabbids might be difficult for a 10 year old which it’s a turn base strategy game. It is no way a typical Mario adventure game.

Firstly AWESOME PARENT

I would recommend Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (a good laugh and a good family game, all our kids love it and their friends).
I would also recommend considering Zelda: Breath of the Wild. My sister started in the world of Zelda at 8 and has been obsessed since, the new one is AMAZING and I reckon she will be very happy with it
