its nicehash, you are selling your hashing power out for people to hire, you will not it swtiches around different algorythums, it picks the one of most value at the time (btw you can set a threshold value that it starts mining at autmoatically o ytou dont waste power when its not profitable) there is also not much point mining on cpus any longer, gpus are way more efficent

Make sure you are taking power consumption into account. Ive seen a lot of miners run in the red due to power and maintenance (if you are running 24/7 you should have some sort of cooling setup unless you want to be replacing hardware regular.

It's not worth putting your GPU through if you net peanuts a day. I'm tossing the idea of getting a 4-5 card rig going from my old system but I did one day on my 1080 and thought about the pay out. I'd rather not make that money than run my card to death, especially if it dies when you're trying to game.
