OK so this is TV related but I use a TV as my computer monitor. Alright so I have speakers I use to use for sound through the auxiliary port on my TV but the port doesn't work so would a optical audio conversion and or hdmi audio conversion work I honestly don't understand sound systems at all so need help with this.

if you are hooked to the tv with hdmi just change your windows to use the hdmi for audio. the aux port on the tv is paired to the vga "PC" port so it will only pull the sound through there when you have the PC port as the source channel.
