Hey guys, just looking for an opinion about a CPU upgrade.
I currently own a i5-6400 but i find it a tad slow when it comes to game dev & vid editing especially on the compiling/rendering process.
I had a look at a list of GA-B150M-D3H mobo CPU compatible upgrades and the i7-7700(not k, since I can't overclock with current mobo) pop up as an option.
But I am unclear if the 7700k base frequency of 4.2ghz(max 4.5ghz) is worth investing in over the 7700 base frequency of 3.6ghz(max 4.2ghz) - the k version means i need to get a separate CPU cooling unit as well which I know a few that might fit in my Zalman NEO case
So [i7-7700k] or [i7-7700] or [Neither and wait]?
=my current rig setup=
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-6400 Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.30 GHz)
GPU: GTX Geforce 1050Ti SC 4GB GDDR5
RAM: Crucial Ballistix LT 16GB(4x4GB)
MB: GIGABYTE B150M-D3H
HDD/SDD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, Samsung 850 EVO M.2 250GB, Seagate 1TB
PSU: 450W Silver
