If your running a 140hz monitor and you need that extra fps to match the hertz then yes. Otherwise dont bother.

yes but... It'll be better to upgrade next year since the cheaper chipsets aren't out yet, RAM is expensive and you'll be needing to buy a new monitor for the sake of seeing more than 60fps(if you have a 60hz monitor)

I've had a 4790k for 4 years I've had no problems even when I oc to 4.3 I am thinking of upgrading my 980 MSI afterburner though

Aside from the itch to want to upgrade, I still don't feel a need to upgrade my 2600k to coffee lake, it's overclocked to 4.6GHz, and I can rarely max it out on anything I do. I have a 1080 GPU and run a 144Hz 1080p monitor, and everything runs great. 6 cores would be lovely, but I'm struggling to justify any reason for it.
