Debating wether to get minecrsft on the switch now that i know it will have cross platform gameplay, how well does it compare to the pc version?

Boring. And only cross with certain systems.

They make you pay for texture packs and there's no mods.

I think it's great. The Switch version is supposed to be getting a huge update when the Realms/Crossplay stuff hits, so there's also that to consider.
