Separate Mario-verse. In this case Mario Kart Universe is an amalgam of all Nintendo properties. Same with the Smash continuity. The Smash Bros takes characters similar to the ones we know. Again there is no single continuity between Mario games. With the exception of Super Mario Bros, the Lost Levels. Also Mario Galaxy and Mario Galaxy 2.
