I personally like wood elf, but it's just a matter of preference. But be sure to join the dark brotherhood, not only do you slaughter people for fun, but you also get to leep anything they had, awesome armor, and you get paid for it

Wood elf if you wanna stay back and be stealthm they get stealth attack bonus and bow 20% damage i think im not sure though

Breton. The can do both warrior stuff and mage stuff very easily. And then building up Thief skills is easy in this game, so you can basically do it all with a Breton.
