Same difference between any two ranks.
80% Better game awareness, 20% better mechanical skill

Not much really, in every rank players tend to have different levels of skill (in terms of mechanical, technical and game mechanics) you'll see the difference when you go against top 500 players.

Mechanical skills and mainly they tend to make less mistakes regarding positioning, staggering in. Also they are more patient like grouping up, using ults and combos etc.

There's a few differences. First, masters become like these glorified diamonds. They are extremely good, but grand masters got what it takes to know everything. Aside from skill, knowledge, and aiming. Grandmasters are more aware. They know their healers are dead, so they check and don't spam. Regular masters spam and are still kinda idiots. There's also, those that solo there playing a variety of characters are true grandmasters. Those that play in groups usings 1-3 characters lack a lot of things but know the meaning of teamwork

Might not sound believable, but it's usually mechanical skill. A player that has good game sense is usually going to perform worse than a player with good mechanical skill, at least at that masters level. Someone with just pure aim skill is going to be punished significantly less than someone that has good game sense and can't back up their plays.
The difference between GM and top 500 is usually being able to combine the two, as well as how good you are when it comes to communicating with your team.

That's my opinion from a couple seasons ago when I played the game more
