ok, just joined. hopefully someone here can help haha. Im new at building computers. I just ordered my mid-tower and Im getting ready to fill it I know everything i want BUT Im having issues picking the mother board i want. I want to have a black a red theme. and Im putting an I7 in it. I found one I really like and that might be powerful enough for me but idk if its compatible with I7. only amd? idk you guys tell me im still learning. its the

or
MSI X370 GAMING Plus
Idk the diferance in the two. so any help would be awesome thanks!
Also I do video editing / heavy gaming so thats why I think i would need the I7
I already know Im putting a gtx 1080 in it
idk what power source though.

X370 are AMD boards with the AM4 socket as far as I can tell. The i7 won't fit in them. What's the socket type for the i7 you want? Should be LGA and then some numbers.

without looking, i'm assuming msi prob makes a "gaming pro" model that will fit an i7, but the one you mention is for an AMD chip
