I have an i3 4170 with a 6gb ram and I'm still debating between getting a 1050ti or a 1060 6gb. But if I buy either of the two will it even bottleneck? Will my 6gb ram matter when playing triple A games? Or in short, will Ram matter?

both will bottleneck. I owned the i3 4130 and paired it with a 750 Ti and it still bottlenecked in a lot of games.

It will bottleneck. Here what you should do.
Get a second hand i5/i7 4th gen. And upgrade that 6gb ram to 8gb. And pair them with your last touch 1050ti or 1060 if you still can afford it. You will be "perfectly" fine with triple A games.
