I could use some help. My computer doesn't turn on. It just beeps 5 times. Fans and everything run, but nothing comes up on the screen. Its a 4 year old pre-built.

5 beeps is cpu failure. Could be socket, other motherboard component or cpu.

I'll try taking the CMOS battery out for a bit. Thanks!

Unfortunately reseating the CMOS battery didn't work :(

Try reseating your cpu and check all of the pins on it. If it is older it is possible you cpu went bad. What cpu do you have?

5 beep is error beep. see if you can find out what 5 beeps mean for your motherboard model.

swap out ur cmos battery for a new one and make sure bios date and time are set correctly

7 beeps would be your cpu, so its obviously not that
