Hi I’m having an issue where I have one stick of 16gb ram And one stick of 8gb ram I thought it would add up and give me 24 gb ddr4 but it just shows I have 16 (new to pc)

how many ram slots do you have and what are they configured to run as

if you have four slots try 0110 configuration

generally 0101 is the config, like 0-0 have to match and 1-1 have to match

nah, 8 and 16 dont = 24 though, it = 8+16

if theyre not the same size of ram some motherboards cant utilize both sizes, so iit uses the larger
