Hellow guardians, i got a question about 144hz monitors.

At this moment i play destiny at 1080p 60Hz TV.
Ultra settings 70fps+-.

Now if i would buy 144Hz monitor, do i need to lower ingame graphic settings to match 144fps, or it will work with those 60fps ?

With 60hz you can cap it at 60fps

Depends on your gpu, I okay on a 150hz monitor and my GTX 1080 ti evga gets me a solid 150 all the time and that’s at ultra at 2K

I do not think 1060 3 GB version will suffice for 144, you will need to lower a loads of settings

On ultra i play at 70fps,

60hz on a 144hz monitor will be no different that playing it on a 60hz monitor. I have a 165hz monitor I play D2 at 60fps and can’t tell a difference when I switch between my monitor and my tv.

Welp, i dont want to upgrade pc yet, build it this year:
i5 7400
gtx1060 3gb
16gb ram
SSD for OS

I would like to play on it for this year, next possible upgrade i would do in 2019 when new generation of parts comes out.

I guess i save money for upcoming destiny DLCs then

I have a 1060 6gb, manually overclocked and I get mid 70-100 fps during heavy gameplay, and 130+ during random things or story. Idk how much of a difference the 3gb is but I'd say getting a 144hz monitor is a good choice either way. Even if you can't hit the frames on destiny, on others you will. Ever since I got mine I'd never go back.

No, you will play at the same settings if your graphic card is at least 970ti or higher.
