Has anyone thought about how CPUs and GPUs aren't worth that much in materials? I understand """"research and development"""" costs are high, but is it not weird to anyone how a GTX 1080ti is worth maybe $50 at most? And not a single company has said "You know what, since people don't buy our GPUs as much, we'll just drop them to an unbeatable price" and instantly gain majority market share. Is that not weird to anyone else?

This is so damn true. Now the tech of the 1080ti was available like 10 years ago and the Vega like 5 years ago but these companies saw no need of releasing this tech just to keep making the money by improving the tech little by little
