OK so what happened to me was I installed Windows 10 on my desktop then when it came time to install my 1070s drivers it gave that issue. I then tried the nvidia site, none of the drivers helped...

So what I had to do was wipe my drive clean, install 8.1 then upgrade the 8.1 to 10...then the drivers worked

I didn't roll back nothing, I literally formated my drive and installed 8.1 fresh... Remember the nvidia drivers for win 10 won't work for win 8 and vice versa

Download Windows updater and update to the last windows v and it will work ( the problem is your windows did not recognize the driver ) happened to me in windows 10

And do you have Java? It requires Java to scan your hardware

Do a clean install. If that dont work try nvidia geforce experience installer.

Do this:
- use windows update to get the chipset and intel hd graphics drivers first
- restart
- go on geforce.com, get the latest driver and install it.

Try by downloading older driver.... It worked for me....
