I tried every Nvidia driver for the 840m
Still showing.'no compatable hardware found'
Its something related to hardware id
Pls help

Were there even 800 series GPUs? Never heard of the 880 or 870 or 860 or something

It's only available in notebooks I think

Had a similar situation with a sony. Wouldnt install, even though my model was clearly on the list. Contacted nvidia and they told me the hardware was locked by manufacturer.

Yeah same issue here
The default driver doesn't have the specific hardware id for my device

Upgrading to 10 fixed the issue for me..

I would reach out to nvidia. They got back to me suprisingly fast.

Download notebook drivers..there r seperate nvidia drivers for desktop and notebook

download the nvidea geforce experience it will choose a suitable driver for your machine i had the issue too
