An older gpu like 670 or something new but cheap like a gt1030

Can't shell out 200+ for a budget gpu til later since I am building from scratch and not upgrading

Buy an old high end gpu and change the thermal paste

The 1030 is slower but supports some new and exotic APIs
670 is old but very fast and still quite capable
And given that games really don't like dx12 the 670 seems like a better choice
But you'll be missing vulkan though

Because you could get a 1050 (non ti) for like $100 and it will play most games at medium to high. Even some at ultra if you play it at 900p (which is what most xbox one games play at) and it doesn't look a lot worse than 1080p. Just saying, I got my cousin a 1050 and most first person shooter will play high-ultra at 45-60fps.

Every time I look up the 1050 they are over 150 now
