Finally swapping my cpu ive never done this and google gives suggestions instead of answers so here we go. I have a fm2 socket type with currently an apu in it can i take it out and put in any amd cpu that fits in an fm2 type or do i need specific versions?

just make sure to flash the latest bios before you put in a different cpu to be on the safe side

Just make sure the socket type you buy is fm2. Try to place anything other than fm2 you will bend prongs.

CPU socket type must be the same as motherboard socket type.

Don't expect to buy a new FM2 processor and get a massive performance jump. The absolute best FM2 cpu is still 30% weaker then amds cheapest current chip. It's even more abysmal if you compare to a current Intel chip.
