The charger must be minimum 2.1A to charge at all, preferably 2.4A-3.0A. From my experience, anyway.

Make sure the amerage is atleast 1.5 amp and voltage is at 5 volts. So under output it should say something like Output: 5v 2.1A . Make sure it's atleast 1.5A. The voltage MUST be 5v no higher no lower. The one nintendo gives you is rated for 5v and 16v (16v is for use with the dock).
