As a person with disorders already, I don't need another unpleasant label pointing at me.

Yeah but I would think it applies to extreme cases, as with any addiction. You can drink alcohol but not be addicted (an alcoholic), for example.

When your addiction to gaming starts to affect your personal and work life or your health, then it's a problem. Enjoying a few hours of gaming every night? Not a mental health problem. It's probably actually better time spent than watching hours of tv. At least you're engaging your mind.
