Any advice for playing Tracer in lower ranks? Her counters seem to be everywhere and avoiding spam damage is difficult.

Well there is a difference between having a counter and just being outmatched. I can outmatch a pharah with junkrat easily even though she is a counter to him.

rewind when she breathes and rewind when she breathes a second time when you improve. shake your cross hairs around enemies heads and learn how to do that while strafing. that's about it.

Recall to regain health or to avoid enemy tanks, dash to escape and get to health packs quick, learn the maps. (Last one is pretty important for low health tracer)

The biggest thing a lot of people overlook is just be careful. You get a lot more value from sticking near your team and waiting to pounce on low health targets than you do from flanking like a mad man and getting killed.

Manage your blinks and recall when you're low. And always go AROUND even when leaving spawn.

I forgot. Always go into a fight with at least two blinks and leave if you can't do anything.

Counter picks only work if they're playing to actually counter you. If your team has a Genji and the enemy team has a Winston, that doesn't mean that the enemy team wins if the Winston isn't so far up your Genji's ass that you hear Genji screaming peanut butter in Japanese. For Tracer in lower ranks though, just pick off the healers first and work on Blink management. You don't need blinks to dodge everything, a bit of crouching and jumping around is enough most of the time. Save your blinks for when you really really need them.
