i use a 27" 1080P monitor at work, its ok since i sit a bit further back from it, but its not ideal... at home i use a 27" WQHD which i love... but its expensive and means you need a lot more GPU power...
if you dont wanna spend extra on monitor and GPU, i suggest you stick to 24" 1080P...

32 inch, 1080P monitor is good for gaming. I prefer to game on a 40" 1080P monitor and only larger than 40" if 4K display.

Assuming you on a PC ( with high-end Nvidia GPU) with a 1080P display, you can enable DSR ( Dynamic Super Resolution) . it will be the best 1080P image ever.

Some of you may say 27" or 24" 1080P is good. I agree also for the sake of pixel density.

I choose 40" to have balance overall.
Pixel density, viewing area, and distance away from display.
