how to turn off the console. I only found sleep mode

There is no power off that I have found
And yes wired is possible so long as it has switch coding in it

Hold the power button on top of the console it takes you to a screen to power of the console

hold the power button down, it then gives power off option. you just need a usb convertor b to type c to use other controllers

Turning off the system completely isn't a good idea. The system was designed with sleep mode in mind, from what i hear powering off the system can possibly damage it. As far as wired controllers go hori makes a pro controller that's not only licensed by nintendo, it's 30 dollars compared to the nintendo pro controller. It doesn't have rumble and can't use amiibo iirc.

Plug your USB cable into your switch, plug the other end into your controller. You now have a wired controller. In fact plug it into anything. My pro controller is charging on my MacBook right now as I'm typing this. That's the added benefit of a detachable cable. You can literally plug it into anything. You can plug it into your power point with a USB adapter.
