Because idk lets Say you pick the dodge dart v12 it has a incredibly large gap between ah 998-999 so its unfair

No much different If you tune it right

Usually you can, I'm guessing the race settings were to s2. X class can be any setting above 999, like maybe 1200. Heck, you don't even need the car to be that much faster, on the tracks with more corners, handling matters more.
