What's more important for placements? Wins or performance? For example, I could play Rein to ensure we survive and win, but I won't get any medals, or play D.va and get all the medals, but might lose.

Well yeah, I know wins affect how you climb, I'm just asking about placement matches specifically. So, Mike Wang, for my example. A rein who gets no medals but lives and blocks all the damage still performs as well as a D.va who murders everyone and gets all 4 golds?

Performance. Wins and loses don't mean anything. It's based on your past seasons rank more than anything. If it was based on wins and losses someone in say bronze could get lucky and get 10 wins and end up in GM and obviously that doesn't happen
