so yesterday i started getting an error when playing ark. something to do with a D3D devise lost or not found. went to validate files and kept saying 2 files were not validated. so went through the process of reacquiring them but would not do it. tried 5-6 times. finally took all mods off and tried again . this time the files installed. dont understand how a mod would keep files from being reacquired .

There will always be 2 like that. Idk why, but it's been like that for as long as I can remember. The D3D loss is a fix on it's own, validating the files won't fix it. It's a common problem with Steam. Google D3D Loss and it should bring up a fix for it with step by step instructions.
