So theory, and I could be wrong but it has lined up for 5 masterwork breakdowns now so hear me out. I think the number of masterwork weapons you have equipped determines how many cores you get when breaking down a masterwork. Every time I have two I get two cores, three same, etc. Anyone else find this happens to them?

Ive had 2 on for so long and mainly only get 1s and 2s hardly ever 3s

I have been testing it for the last few masterworks and it seems like whatever I have equipped is the number it is giving me.

I've had all 3 on and only gotten 1 shard a few times. Im pretty sure it's just rng like everything else in the game.

RNG I’m afraid. I haven’t had 3 cores off a weapon for a long time. I always have 3 masterwork weapons equipped, when playing PvE

I’ve noticed every time I break em down they increase by 1 up to 3.

So I’ll break the first one down and get 1 core, second is 2, third is 3.

Even if they are not directly broken down one after another.

Similar to how if you break down 10 blue mods you get 1 purple mod component.

my first 10 breakdowns were all 1s, and i had found a MWed Origin Story and a MW Crownsplitter, both getting use.

there is no pattern. RNG.
