So I got Attack on Titan 2 yesterday and I gotta say, it's an awesome game

I have both. 2 is really better than 1.

Is it a proper sequel story wise?

Its a repeat of part 1. But from a different viewpoint. Your not a hero just a soldier. Story unfolds just like season 1 but then adds some season 2 in later. I ha e both... 2 is a better game.

Just never played the first so was a bit hesitant

Once you get the controls down its a fun game. The learning curve is a bit much.
