Don't play far back as you don't want to get caught by a flanker or a Pharah rocket. Stick to your tanks especially Rein or Hog as they can get the monkey off your back and they can body block for you if nothing else. Failing that, keep to a corner so you can slip out of sight when you need too.

What are people on? Dont play as far back as these guys are telling you to. If you are a confident zen player then play close to your team but dont push. Play more defensively. If you can heal, discord and DPS then playing with your team instead of playing as far back can really be an advantage to your team but don't push the enemy team and prioritize your DPS who are pushing. Best place to play is close to your tanks as long as there positioning is good. You don't want to be in the heart of battle but you don't want to leave yourself defenceless against a flanker either so staying with your team but playing more defensively seems the best way to play zen.
