Obsidian pick axe mostly though I think you can also find it in the desert.

And if you are on the center map you can fine obsidian and coal on The devil head Island

Obsidian pick on regular stone for clay and on metal nodes for lime stone, combine them in a hand mill and then put the clay into a forge to make bricks.
Put lime stone and cement into a cement mixer to make fresh cement but be careful as fresh cement has a timer on it.

Did they change the name of clay to brick for prim+?

You need limestone and claystone to make buckets of clay then you put a bucket of clay in the refinery forge to make brick
