Nintendo Switch deletes playtime data after a year

Nintendo users are finding that their logged playtime data from one year ago, when the console launched, is gone. It appears that the system is resetting the amount of time for which games have been played since on or before March 2, 2017 — suggesting that the Switch only tracks the month and day players first started up a game, not the year. Please Nintnedo create a play time log book like the 3DS.

Am I the only one who doesn't track how long I've played a game?

It’s a glitch. It’s not resetting play times, the Switch only shows you play times after 10 days, now it’s March 3rd again the console displays ‘first played 0 days ago’ because for some reason it’s not reading years, just dates.

When it’s fixed, or after 10 days, the time played will be visible again.

They’ve gotten worse with every console released in regards to play time and stats. 3DS>Wii U>Switch. I mean sure it’s not absolutely necessary, but it’s a shame they’ve seemingly not cared in years.

Some people like to track how many hours they have invested in a game

^Whats the reason for doing that?? Just play the game.

Seriously, who cares?

I care because I like to know the hours I've logged into a game, and so do many others.
I really hope it's just a glitch or something they can patch out

As a gamer, I enjoy seeing my playtime and my stats, just like I like to see my game characters stats.

This is a stupid move on Nintendo's part.

Doesn't bother me in the least bit. It'd be different if it were achievements.

Probably just a bug or bad programming, I'm sure it will get fixed.
