In the wake of Pokémon's astonishing success in Japan in 1996, many other developers attempted to ape the formula with their own RPG-style adventures. One of the more memorable was Imagineer's Medabot (or "Medarot" as it's known in Japan) series, which spawned a manga and anime and was focused on the construction of fighting robots. With the exception of Medarot Perfect Edition on the Bandai WonderSwan, all games in the series have been exclusive to Nintendo consoles.
Imagineer has announced that it is bringing together eight classic Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance titles from the series to the Nintendo Switch as part of the Medarot Classics Plus collection – and, just like the original game, this pack will be released in two flavours: Kabuto and Kuwagata.
