I need help. I got this cpu as an upgrade from my current cpu and when I placed the new cpu in my PC flickers but doesn't turn out.

Is the cpu at fault or the power supply?

Probably not a great idea to flick the power like that. Probably a bad connection or faulty power supply

The same thing happened to me when I upgraded my PC, but it was just a bad connection. Maybe try tightening the cables?

Did you make sure the CPU is properly aligned in the socket?

This happened to me, either make sure its sitting properly but for some reason my ram came loose, but that wouldn't make it flicker. I say you take it out and try again. If nothing happened again try installing the old cpu again and if it doesn't work then its your power supply.
