If you have a surge protector, you computer will most likely be fine, although one of my friends fried his Ethernet port during a storm. That doesn't seem too common though.

I've talked on CB radios with 18 foot antennas stuck 40 feet in the air in a thunderstorm. As long as you've got everything properly grounded (which is a requirement for your house) then you should be fine. If you want to be extra cautious, get a good quality UPS and run all your stuff through that so if your power flickers it doesn't actually bother your PC.

It's really dangerous. U need to ground yourself. Get a bucket of water and put it under ur desk. Then get an old power cord and put it in the bucket. Then plug in the cable and sit at ur desk. Insert feet into bucket and enjoy. Now if you get hit by lightning u will be grounded and be 100% safe
