It doesn't have the same "magic". To start there are only like 6 characters and 4 stages without grinding quite a bit to unlock more.

Also the characters just seem less intuitive. It doesn't feel as "pick up and play". I think it could be good if you want something dump a lot of hours in and really master. But it's not a fun casual game.
