If you have the merciless it doesn't matter. But I believe the main ingredient is the best? Haven't looked into it too much since I have the merciless

But linear fusion rifles are long range rail guns. Like a fusion sniper

linear is 1 hit: high risk, high reward. Good for bosses

Linear gets pooped on in pvp more times than not. And most people don't hit enough with the regular ones to be effective. Just use sins or curtain call.
