Two noob questions please.

On scorecard you can change from symbols to figures. There is a little number next to each score number. What does it mean?

If a symbol or number is flashing why is it flashing?

If you can post a pic of your 1st question it might be helpful.
But the answer to your second question is.... if it's flashing it means you have made a chip in

Those are total putts, I think, on that particular hole.
