Text on the wall for the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy still stands out as a sizable, expansive, and accurate Harry Potter video game that lives up to fans' high expectations in the crowded year of 2023. It has been a long-held dream to explore every secret room of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and fly through the neighborhood on a broomstick, and creator Avalanche Software deserves praise for turning what seemed impossible into a marvel. In the game, players can prepare a enough amount of Hogwarts Legacy Boosting Service.

Of course, even on the most powerful hardware, there are some shortcomings that plague games. Some are design choices, like repeated Merlin Trials or a half-baked story, but others are mechanical issues that won't go unnoticed. Short waits between rooms are annoying as ambient loads mount, and some inconsistent performance on PC has marred an otherwise great experience. Worryingly, the version reserved for the Switch has been delayed until November of this year. Nintendo's little machine is in its twilight years, keeping up with something so ambitious that it's causing problems for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, which may not bode well for the portable's future.

Hogwarts legacy's switch delay draws attention

Lag as severe as Hogwarts Legacy's on the Switch is far from ideal. This doesn't necessarily indicate a bad product, but it does mean that there are unresolved unforeseen issues that will take months to correct. At the very least, it was a mistake by the developers, showing how far it actually missed its target when it set the release window. The Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, although originally planned to release after the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, has been delayed until now, disappointing many and an oversight by Avalanche Software. Like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a long delay is certainly a bad sign, and no matter how big the potential fallout, it should be treated as such.

It's also possible that Hogwarts Legacy will be released again later this year, but with a much smaller impact. Waiting a few months for the Nintendo Switch version didn't seem like too long a wait for the added benefit of portability, but now that it's almost a full year behind the previous version of the game, there's a chance gamers won't tolerate the time and jump into the home game instead console or PC port for the ultimate thirst quencher.

Hogwarts legacy struggles on modern hardware

Even though the Nintendo Switch version of the game is set to launch this November, and it's all going well, it's easy to think it's going to be a far less playable way to play, even with the allure of portability. Handheld consoles simply aren't as powerful as their contemporaries, and with those platforms struggling even with the Hogwarts legacy, graphics issues and performance inconsistencies abound, it's hard to believe that the transition to less powerful consoles will Seamless and no issues.

All of this is bad news for the Switch, and while that may be the talk of the industry today about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the reality is that another beloved open world in 2023 may be some years away. It's been a while since gaming justified dusting off the device. It's all theory until it actually launches on Switch, and things aren't looking good. For more game guides, please refer to
