Console singular, as in you only need the console you play on.

These rented servers are solid, unlike the spare Xbox you can expect little to no crashes. Whereas if you have a second console, you are putting everyone through the torture and mindset of "When will it crash?" Or "Should I do this now, it just started lagging a bit so it'll probably crash right?"
These payed servers a literally a savoir, although the savoir is a little costly.

I would trust a server owner over a rental service any day. If Wildcard cared about their customer base, they would allow the option to eventually host via personal PC. Besides beta game crashes a personal game owner can be as much if not more reliable than a paid for service which will run you upwards of $200 a year.

Why pay when you can get for free? payment kickbacks to Wildcard, that is why. So they choose to break private dedicateds to force people to rent a server.

I don't agree with Nitrado being their go-to for this... but any of you nubs thinking you can host a server from your personal PC are out of your minds.

Very doubtful many of you have rigs capable of running more than a 6-8 slot server without crashing after everyone loads in. You'll need at least a $2000 rig, with CPU and RAM upgrades to compensate the rendering, maybe upwards of $2500 if you want a 20-30 person server. To top it all off you'll need a dedicated T1 line separate from your home internet, there's another $200 a month. Not to mention electricity needs, fan repairs, coolant etc.

The cost of slot server renting vs running your own shitty server is next to none.

Nitrado are the only hosts available come august 8th, other server hosts will come available after release once they have the code etc. Personal pc hosting is also on its way, its called "Play anywhere". You should really read the patch notes...

Clearly never played a pc server if you'd rather trust an xbox server over a rental, all those youtube channels you watch, they all rent servers, nerd parade, slipg8r, jade plays games, H.O.D, nearly all of them host servers from rental services...

You dont have to rent one but the stability, frame rates, ping, ability to save, extra options and room for added players and server clusters is the reason to pay out for it. Xbox dedicated servers will be dead after august 8th.

Start a server and throw up a GoFundMe. If you do a 32 slot on advanced settings it costs less than $40 a month. If of those 32 people, half of them tosses in $1 per month, it costs $24. A year of that is on par with the cost of a second console and electricity, but with much better processing power, more stability, and save backups.

Ill go with the Nitrado.
