Ryzen 5 1600 or Ryzen 5 1600X. Which one is better for gaming? I can’t find an easily understood answer and I’m planning my ultimate upgrade.

If you're planning to overclock. The 1600. XFR doesn't work when overclocked so pointless paying more for it.

All Ryzens are unlocked so makes no difference for overclocking.

1600X is excellent I play all my games at 60fps or higher. OC to 4.1 GHZ is pure gold.

I went with the 1600x because I caught it on sale. I use XMP profile 2 on my board and the CPU runs at 3.7 all the time and my RAM is at 2900. I'm enjoying it so far. My video card is a Devil 13 R9 390 x2.

I don’t think I’m gonna overclock, I haven’t really done it before. I did but it wasn’t stable. I don’t understand how overclocking works.
