Ok I’m looking to build a PC to play games up to the year 2000 so looking at windows 98 however stuck on a good spec, voodoo card is a must but ram and cpu is up in the air, any advice or what do you use to play mid to late 90s games, and I will be using a crt vga monitor :)

Mid nineties you’re looking at a 486 dx4 100 or early pentium. By late nineties it was pentium 3 so that’s your best bet. Look up “Phil’s computer Lab” on YouTube he is building everything from 386 on - all worth an eye to games of the time he’s up to pentium 3 at the moment.

Don't know about you, but I use emulators.

Windows 2000 was an amazingly stable OS.

Geforce 2 + Voodoo 2 SLI. Pentium 3 and 512mb ram. That will cover most games from mid 90s to 2000ish.

1 Ghz Athlon or Pentium III, 512 MB+ memory, 3DFX Voodoo 5500 :)
